A & M EDM Visit Sept 2024Wed, 02 Oct 2024On Thursday 26 September, 8 Year 12 DT students were invited to a local engineering company A & M EDM, for National Manufacturing Day. Whilst visiting the company they witnessed various inventions from the engine for the fastest Mini in the world to the design which made the crisps Pombears. The students were told about the part that had been engineered that is now on the Mars project in space whilst viewing state of the art design equipment. After touring the company, the students got to speak to the apprentices and ask questions about their pathways. The event was also attended by the West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker and councillors of Sandwell. The students who asked lots of questions, were a credit to themselves and the Academy.
