Sandwell Academy is a secondary school for the age range 11-18 which caters for students of all abilities ranging from the most able to those with special education needs from the six towns in the borough of Sandwell.
Sandwell Academy is part of the Thomas Telford Multi Academy Trust (TTMAT), established in September 2017. The MAT currently consists of three secondary schools; Madeley Academy, Redhill Primary Academy, Sandwell Academy and Walsall Academy.

The general aim of Sandwell Academy is to maximise student performance in all it's forms.
The Governing Board is responsible for the Academy. The Board comprises of representatives from all the Sponsors. Individuals from the local Sandwell community are also co-opted to the Governing Board and their brief will be embodied in a specially signed agreement between the Secretary of State and the Sponsors. The running costs of the Academy will be accounted for by the Department for Children, Schools & Families.
