SIPS Education is our appropriate Awarding Body to ensure that our Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) Programme meets statutory requirements. It works with more than 150 schools across the region. Here is what they say about us:
Sandwell Academy's levels of support and training for teachers new to the profession are a great platform to launch a successful teaching career. Their support goes beyond statutory requirements.
Kim Whiting, HR Director, SIPS Education.
Sandwell Academy is a strong advocate of developing teachers and has a proven track record. The school also maintains strong links with its alumni, many of whom have gone on to complete their teacher training course with West Midlands Consortium. I highly recommend anyone who is interested in teaching to contact them.
Su Plant, Director of ITT, West Midlands Consortium
As well as providing excellent provision supporting TeachFirst participants, Sandwell Academy has contributed to the wider TeachFirst programme through hosting a 'Teaching Experience' week during initial training, contrasting school experiences for other school partners and more recently as one of our lead partners in school-centred learning. We have a highly valued, established partnership with them.
Caroline Montgomery, PGDE Programme Director, TeachFirst West Midlands

It includes strong involvement with initial teacher training providers, highly effective professional development opportunities and thoughtful succession planning.
Sandwell Academy is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all those working at the Academy to share this commitment.
