A group of Year 10 and 11 students had the opportunity to attend a MAC
Cosmetics masterclass in the Grand Central store in Birmingham. This
enabled students to gain an insight into the world of work within the
beauty sector. Students were able to ask the staff about their experiences
and what they did in order to get to where they are within their careers.
They also observed one of the artists demonstrating make up techniques and
looks in order to help build on the students existing skill set. During
this time, the makeup artist talked to the students about each stage of the
makeup process and the importance of building rapport with the clients you
are making over. Staff also spoke to students about the recruitment process
and the different avenues within MAC Makeup. Students thoroughly enjoyed
