What the Advocates will do for you

  • Listen to your views and concerns without giving their personal views or making a judgement about you.
  • Help you explore your options and rights (without pressuring you) and without giving personal opinion
  • Provide you with information to help you make informed decisions
  • Support you to speak to parents and/or members of staff and help you contact relevant people or contact them on your behalf
  • Support you in meetings.

What the Advocates do for the Academy

  • Raise awareness across the Academy and promote a culture of respect.
  • Contribute to the Assembly/PHSE programme

What does Advocacy mean?

Advocacy means getting support from another person to help you express your views and wishes, and help you stand up for your rights . Someone who helps you in this way is called your Advocate.
