Students from the 6.1 BTEC Business course attend a workshop on Finance and Employability skills delivered by employees of the Lloyds Banking group who are based in Brindley Place in Birmingham.
The students were given an insight into personal finances, budgeting, savings accounts and the range of borrowing products available. The group discussed what money actually means to them and what people do with their money. Working in small groups they were given case studies to work on where they could put what they had learnt into practice, each group then presented their plan and the reasons behind their decisions to the group and feedback was given
The student’s feedback included
“The speakers helped me to get more information about budgeting and different sources of finance”
“They also helped me to realise what they have to offer and how useful they would be for me in the future”
Many thanks to all the staff from the Lloyds Banking Group who made the workshop such a positive experience for the students and gave a real insight into the banking world.
