At Sandwell Academy, our uniform is more than just clothing – it is a visible symbol of our culture and our shared commitment to The SA Way. It represents our school values of being brave, being kind, and being proud. Our students wear their uniform with pride, knowing they are part of something bigger than themselves: a community that strives for excellence, integrity, and respect.
To ensure families have access to high-quality, affordable uniform, Sandwell Academy works with two approved uniform suppliers. These suppliers stock all items required for the full Academy uniform.

Maintaining high standards of uniform is a shared responsibility between students, parents/carers, and staff. Students are expected to wear the correct uniform whenever they are on site, travelling to and from the Academy, or representing the Academy at events and trips. As ambassadors for Sandwell Academy, students should take pride in their appearance and always conduct.
Parents and carers play a key role in ensuring uniform and PE kit are correct, clean, labelled, and in good condition. The Academy is committed to supporting families through reasonable adjustments, financial assistance where eligible, and open communication when concerns arise.
Staff carry out daily uniform checks and work proactively with students to resolve issues before they impact learning. Through the Standards Station, students can access essential uniform items and support to quickly address minor uniform concerns. Where students engage positively in resolving issues, sanctions will not usually be applied. Significant or repeated breaches of the uniform policy will be addressed in line with Academy procedures, with support from Heads of Year, the Welfare Team, and Senior Leadership where required. The Academy takes a supportive and compassionate approach, particularly where financial hardship may be a barrier, while maintaining clear and consistent expectations for all students.

As part of our commitment to maintaining high standards and supporting all families, we run the Uniform Unity initiative – a student-led group that oversees the collection, organisation, and distribution of second-hand uniform. A small charge is applied to items to support the running of the initiative. While we aim to keep a range of sizes available, stock can be limited and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
