I Am Creative Project.
Adam&EveDDB, a top advertising agency, visited the Academy on Tuesday 24 January along with Ideas Foundation to launch the “I am Creative Project” which allows students to design and come up with exciting new ideas for big branded companies.
The launch brief was for the Banking giant Lloyds. Y10 GCSE students were tasked with the project of coming up with a new promotional campaign to entice and educate young people to bank with Lloyds. The representatives for Adam&EveDDB gave an exciting insight into the world of work and what it is really like to work within a media company in London. There were some great group exercises, which got the students really thinking about their brief and how they were to tackle it.
Everyone is really looking forward to the next stage in March, when the representatives will be back to judge the students presenting their ideas. If the idea is successful, the winning students could win a trip to London to present their idea to an esteemed panel of judges from the advertising world. On top of that, students will also be entered onto ‘The Ladder’ an online recruitment database for the advertising and media world; where students can apply for exclusive work experience.
Here are some comments from students who attended the session:
“Interesting, I learned a lot.”
“It was fun and informative.”
“It showed us how much time and effort goes into each advert, to try and make people interested.”
“I enjoyed watching the different adverts and finding new perspectives on advertising”
“I enjoyed seeing what adverts they have created. I also liked the group work”
