Year 11 students excel at Sandwell Academy!

Sandwell Academy is celebrating an excellent set of GCSE outcomes after Year 11 students achieved a fantastic set of GCSE results.

66% of students achieved pass grades or better in English and Maths, with 83% achieving a pass in either English Literature or Language.

85% of all results were graded A*-C (4) across a range of subjects. Outcomes were especially high in Science, Computing, Music, Religious Education, Physical Education, Business, Catering, ICT, Art and Drama.

37% of students achieved the English Baccalaureate gained by achieving A*-C (4) grades in English, Maths, two Science subjects, Geography or History and a Modern Foreign Language.

Nearly 90% of students achieved 5 or more A*-C GCSE’s qualifications, with every student achieving success on at least one level 2 course combined with other vocational achievements.

Some outstanding individual performances were achieved by a number of talented students who achieved stunning outcomes matching their personal targets. 29 students achieved five A*/A grades or better including:

Simon Topper, Headteacher, commented, “I am extremely proud of our Year 11 students this year who have produced an excellent set of results against a background of significant change and upheaval in the exam system and I pay tribute to them all for the hard work, commitment and resilience they have demonstrated.”
